Construct of a poem

Just sitting, waiting

For mental spaghetti

To spill onto the page

I just let me fingers hover

Then tap the keys

Waiting for some sense

To appear like a cheap magic trick

For the cheer

As the rabbit is pulled from the hat

Letting my unconscious know

It’s ready to applaud

Ready for the big bang

Finish off with a picture that says

A thousand words

Increasing text

While adding context to the story

A flurry of colour

That lights the page

And draws you in

Mesmerising

And there it is

Ready for the reveal

Unveil to those who would read it

Done and done

  1. It’s as if you wrote about me! Nicely done, JC. I thoroughly enjoyed this. Thanks for sharing and also, the follow on I Write Her. I hope you enjoy my work as well. Looking forward to reading more of your work. Take care!

  2. 🙂 I had to *squee* when you said “I’ll be looking for the time to read more.” Not for the obvious reason that having you read my work would be awesome but I JUST (not kidding!) had the thought for a new poem loosely titled Make The Time For Me. LOL just wow how that works sometimes. Glad you’re here. 🙂
