Happy Smile

Happy smile is back on my face

Back again with the human race

I breathe out a sigh

Back up on a high

Prettify

And embrace

While life feels good the little things

Raises the heart on feathered wings

Blurred vision has gone

Sing with a new song

Bang a gong

Small blessings

Depression hides, enjoy the day

For now my blues have gone away

I say a small prayer

Let my soul repair

My welfare

Holiday

It will return, no doubt of that

And I’ll have my usual spat

But for now I’m good

Love life, as I should

My selfhood

And that’s that

My Special Guest tonight is…

William Blake and The Smile

I was quite surprised to find this poem in my own files stashed at the back of my laptop. I’ve posted one or Mr Blake’s poem’s before called A Poison Tree. A particularly good tale about regret and vengeance, at least that’s how I read it (manic chuckle).

This one though is quite the opposite and I confess it even puts a smile on this miserable bastards face.

So while the sun is shining, settle yourself into a recliner and enjoy.

The Smile

There is a Smile of Love
And there is a Smile of Deceit
And there is a Smile of Smiles
In which these two Smiles meet

And there is a Frown of Hate
And there is a Frown of disdain
And there is a Frown of Frowns
Which you strive to forget in vain

For it sticks in the Hearts deep Core
And it sticks in the deep Back bone
And no Smile that ever was smild
But only one Smile alone

That betwixt the Cradle & Grave
It only once Smild can be
But when it once is Smild
There’s an end to all Misery
